On a gloriously sunny, breezy day, the members, friends and family of First Universalist Church of Southold gathered on the grounds of the church site at 51900 Main Road in Southold to break ground for our new building.  Over 60 guests came together to celebrate this very special occasion – the culmination of eight years of hard work and determination, and the first new construction in the historic district of Southold.

Heartfelt messages were shared by our minister Rev. Valerie Freseman, Rev. Roger Joslin of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Greenport, our Board President Mark Sisson, and Brian Davis, the church’s Owner’s Representative.  Following their brief remarks, Rev. Valerie and members of the building design team used a recycled spade (in the UU spirit of reduce-reuse-recycle) to break ground for the new building.
